The street. Signs in streets such as Baptist, George and Cope read “Permit Holders Excepted Area 41” (City of Sydney). If your household is eligible, a removalist’s truck can park there on a City of Sydney visitor permit, but Redfern apartment blocks approved since 8 May 1996 are excluded.
The date. Sydney Streets can close Redfern Street for a day: on Saturday 7 March 2026, the City of Sydney scheduled closures there and in nearby streets from 5.30am to 11.45pm.
