Moving in Bondi: what to plan
Two things shape a Bondi move: the way out of your building, and where the truck can park.
Your building. Flats or apartments made up 79.6% of homes in Bondi (ABS) and 85.7% in Bondi Beach (ABS) at the 2021 Census, so expect a lift or a stairwell. North Bondi had more houses: 19.3% separate houses and 28.1% semis, terraces or townhouses (ABS).
The kerb. Residents can’t apply for a Waverley Council visitor permit for a truck. So the truck needs a driveway, an unrestricted space or a loading zone, where it may load or unload for up to 30 minutes unless signed otherwise (NSW Road Rules).

Yes, City2Surf day: on Sunday 9 August 2026, Woollahra Council listed clearways from 1am to 4pm on Campbell Parade, Bondi Road and Old South Head Road, plus road closures from 6am near the Bondi Beach finish and from 7am between Double Bay and North Bondi. Bondi Beach roads were due to reopen by 4pm. Check the date each year.
A 4 tonne truck and two crew, the Essential Move Package, is made for 1-2 bedroom homes, and about half of Bondi homes had two bedrooms: 49.8% in the 2021 Census (ABS). A full flat or a long carry from the kerb may call for the 6 tonne truck or a third person; your quote says which.
